Dear guests, we are closed from 1. January 2020 until 24. January 2020. On 25. January 2020 we will be open regularly. Ellen and Stefan Stampfer
I'm not a fan of the Augustinian beer, but it's nice to sit here, the service is very friendly and there is something good to eat.
Was there on a Friday afternoon. The service was very friendly, the food served well and quickly. Gladly again!
Here you can find delicious beer and great, high-quality food at reasonable prices. The service and the boss were very friendly and courteous, we spent two great evenings here. Tip: pre-order Schäufele (if possible and wanted). Otherwise you will certainly find a very tasty alternative on the menu. We would love to come back and would recommend the restaurant unreservedly.
Käsespätzle were great ? the beer anyway ?
One can easily put oneself into time. Simple, neat and very informative.
We were there with a small wedding party. All of the dishes we ordered were very good. The hospitality was exemplary, we'd love to come back.
The decoration on the tables and throughout the restaurant is appropriate and tasteful. The bathroom is always clean and all in all the restaurant makes a very good impression. We didn't have to wait the slightest bit long for the meal and our drinks. That was great, because we were really hungry that evening. The staff was quick, clean and friendly. I can highly recommend this place!
A super nice place to eat outside. Very nice staff and a 1a Schäufele!
The boss recommended a shovel for lunch. It was one of the very best shovels I've ever eaten, tender meat, fell off the bone itself. Absolutely to be recommended! 100% repetition factor !!!
Historical and famous artist
Horrible service, no information on entrance that the main dishes are served only after 17:00, ashtrays not emptied. Disappointed, not recommending this place.
Very good food, nice courteous team. I can only recommend it
Nice staff, nice terrace. Food looked delicious. Plates were empty when clearing away at the next table. I can't say how it tastes, we were only there to relax and end the evening. Aperitif was delicious.
A nice restaurant with a nice view and great service. The bread and sausage there are extremely delicious.
Nice outdoor tables near the base of the castle. I liked their appetizer platter, as well as the Nürnberg sausages.
The food is great and the service is exceptional. We ordered the Nuremberg sausages for starter and it was delicious. Main course, lasagna and pork.
Clean, with Munich's best beer in August, so let's not forget we're in Bavaria. Eat excellent German specialties and in an area you like and don't think of in the Middle Ages! Underneath the Nuremberg castle and across from the home of the famous kid of the city of Albrecht Dyer ... What else does anyone want .....
A very traditional place, worth a visit. They offer local German food from "Franken" (Bavaria). Good food for a good price. It is very close to the castle in old town.
Very nice atmosphere and food. Service very good. Traditional regional food
German cuisine with lots of vegetarian options dishes. The menu has English and vegetarian/vegan indications. Great atmosphere!
Let's say I didn't like it ... I had a few problems with the food despite having told the waiter and owner of my allergies .. a little inattentive and between one course and another long waiting times. The aperitif, however, was excellent.
Very interesting medieval town in Nuremberg
Average.. Dürer deserves a higher quality of dishes
This is a traditional Franconian restaurant near the Albrecht Duerer Haus in Nuremburg. Opening hours are 12pm to 11pm (Wed to Sun), 5pm to 11pm (Mon and Tues). There are multiple floors with indoor seating as well as outdoor seating used during warmer weather. Interior is decorated in traditional manner, menu features an expected range of local and traditional dishes. During our lunch here we shared a plate of 8 Nuremburg sausages with boiled potatoes and sauerkraut along with a couple different types of mustard. All tasted just fine. Service was polite, a bit slow at times as they served numerous tables. However, we didn't mind as we needed to warm up from the cold outside. Overall, we found Zum Albrecht Duerer Haus to be a good place for lunch, not one of our favourite places tried during our visit to Nuremburg but nothing bad either.
Very nice and helpful staff, great traditional food, cozy atmosphere, good beer! A very nice experience!
It was lovely. It's a very narrow house that has been turned into a lovely museum, showcasing one of Europe's most famous painters hailing from Nuremburg. Of course it's lovely to have a museum- and they've done a great job, highlighting it with copies of some of the painter's most famous works. It's difficult to manuvoer because of the size...and there is just a lot that seems to be unknown about many details of the painters life. It was interesting with the audio guide, but there is still a feeling of slight disappointment.
Great food and wheat beer!
Great bratwurst and beer!
Excellent food and beer. A smaller place very close to the Albrecht Durer house (hence the name). We went around 3:30pm and it was slightly busy, but not too much so. We had great service and the Nuremberg sausage on the pretzel bun with the green been salad was so good! It was filling but not overly so. It was a great break from the heavier German meals we had been consuming.
Fantastic outdoor seating, creative vegetarian options, great beer, friendly service -- what could be better?
Great place! Good food and beer ?
Friendly service and great food and beer.
Good home cooking at a fair price. Friendly conditions! Simple food and good beer.
Each time visiting Nuremberg, we're coming here for dinner or lunch. Very nice atmosphere, good ingredients and chance to try something local. Menu is short but changes quite often, so that I was able to try each time something different
It was a great spot in a super location. Staff very nice
Very cozy. Also inside. Great view of the Dürerplatz. Enjoy your meal. Good service. Augustiner Bräu from the barrel. Also precious.
It was a traditional restaurant. We had a business dinner in there as a big group and service was very good and food was great.
Waited an eternity to get sausages.
Delicious atmosphere, food staff and clientele!
Loved this place. The sausage taster starter was brilliant and almost a meal in itself, the pork shoulder well tasty and crackling spot on. The local beer also was very good, as was the apple crumble and ice-cream. The staff were also very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was full when we arrived but they made a spot for us. Definitely going back there when next in Nurnberg.
Nice
This place is tremendous. From the moment we walked in to a warm welcome and 'happy birthday' to my dad... till the time we left, after a scrumptious dessert on the house, then a genuine goodbye - we felt at home here. The food was quintessential Franconian and amazingly delicious. The views and surroundings were postcard perfect. The location is unbeatable. We can't wait to go back. A special thanks goes to the hospitable staff that gave us an evening to remember.
A must visit restaurant during a Nuremberg trip. Great food and atmosphere.
We came here with 6 people for a business dinner and were not disappointed! Having pre-booked due to a large exhibition being held nearby we were shown directly to our seats. The service was with a smile and quick as well as efficient. I ordered Spargel (Asparagus), a very traditional seasonal dish just with butter. Note that German Spargel is white and not meant to be cooked al dente (as I overheard some Americans complain that they were overcooked). Unlike their green cousins they are not meant to have a crunch and for me (seasoned Spargel eater) they were perfectly sweet and delicious. This was followed by an entrecôte type rib steak with roast potatoes and a nice hearty salad. The prices for mains are around 20 Euro but there are cheaper things on the menu too. I'm sure we'll be back again next time. The atmosphere is cosy and casual in this beautiful old building. Seating is traditional wooden benches and chairs with cushions. My only tiny complaint would be that the waitress passes you your cutlery (& plates) rather than placing them on the table for you but it was a particularly busy night and due to the corner bench not easy to get in. Food was excellent! Well done!
Something touristy but otherwise very nice
Wonderful, friendly atmosphere. Delicious food and drinks!
A few minutes from the center, the restaurant offers a good selection of German cuisine. The staff is courteous and the prices are moderate.
Fantastic meal. Good prices. Really nice location! Cannot fault it
Our second time eating here was just as great as the first, there was a wait ti sit outdoors but the setting is well worth the wait. The food is very great and there is a great drink list. Very good for younger children aswell. Would recommend eating here.
Great location for people watching whilst sat outside eating...food was good, without being spectacular
